Ag Commission schedules presentations on PBRS and Ridgefield interchange; planning staff outlines comp-plan timeline

Commissioners discussed upcoming agenda items and agreed the conservation district should present details and proposed rates in a future meeting so the commission could prepare before council deadlines. Zora Oppenheimer said she would present the conservation district's material to the commission and staff noted all materials must be ready for council by Aug. 1 for certain rate proposals.

Planning staff provided a comp-plan update: this week the department was assembling the 60-day submittal to the Department of Commerce and preparing the final environmental impact statement and comment period. Staff said hearings would begin in late August, the planning commission would finish its recommendation in early September and council consideration would start in late September with a major hearing scheduled Oct. 6. Staff also said there is not yet formal direction to develop a transfer-development-rights (TDR) program and the commission would be included when formal direction is issued.
