The Saint Monroe Police and Fire Commission on July 29 formally recognized Captain Noah Vig, who began his duties on 07/20/2026. Chief Fultz introduced Vig and outlined his career history and qualifications.
"With the guidance from Police and Fire Commission, Captain Noah Vig was selected for the captain position, began his duties on 07/20/2026," Chief Fultz said, noting Vig holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and began his career with the department in 2002. Chief Fultz said Vig was promoted to corporal in 2006 and served as 2nd shift patrol sergeant since 2013, bringing experience with the busiest shift and a wide range of calls.
Captain Vig thanked the commission and said he was "definitely grateful" for the opportunity and looks forward to setting goals with department leadership. He also referenced working with a colleague named Nathan as part of that effort.
The recognition was an administrative announcement; the commission proceeded to other agenda business and ultimately moved into closed session later in the meeting.
