Audience Q&A: Officials say Africa Corps is less autonomous than Wagner but remnants persist in CAR

A witness replied that the Africa Corps is "much less independent and autonomous than Wagner was," adding that Moscow has sought to align military operations in Africa with its strategic interests. The witness also noted that the Central African Republic remains a center of residual Wagner activity, where economic incentives such as mining and timber revenues continue to sustain some Wagner-linked operations.
