An Area Planning representative, introduced to the committee as Jared, presented two vendor quotes to digitize historic subdivision and rezoning files.
Jared said many older original documents date from the 1960s and exist only as paper in filing cabinets; preserving them digitally is the county’s priority. He reported two bids: StarPoint at about $121,000 and US Imaging at about $552,000. Committee members noted the large price difference and advised checking references, negotiating contract terms and considering a phased approach (subdivisions first, rezonings later).
Jared said the work could be phased and recommended starting with a smaller subset to evaluate vendor performance. Committee members encouraged negotiating payment tied to satisfactory completion and seeking references from other municipalities that used the vendors.
