Poll worker training set for Oct. 14; recruitment to include students and civic groups

The Tippecanoe County Election Board approved authorization for poll worker contracts and oaths for the general election and staff announced a poll worker training schedule. Training will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14, with three classes available; vendor MicroVote will attend training sessions to support poll workers.

Staff described recruitment methods: outreach to a curated list of previous workers, circulation to major party chairs, an online application portal on the county website, and outreach to third‑party organizations such as the League of Women Voters and Purdue Student Government. Staff also said high‑school students are invited to serve and are valued for their technological skills and ability to assist with runner duties.
