Paula, the district presenter, opened the subcommittee briefing with completion-rate figures: "For the ELA assessment, we had 97 as well as for the math. For our CAST ... we have 98 percent ... and for our ELPAC summative assessment, we had 99 percent completion rate," she said.
She noted the district is showing the same dashboard slides that the full board will see later and recommended presenting simplified visuals to the public. Board members asked for contextual comparisons to neighboring districts and county-level data so parents would understand whether Acton-Agua Dulce is an outlier or near peers.
Paula explained the district also displays ETS reporting (a different view of the same underlying data) and offered to add comparative slides and a school-by-school breakdown at a future subcommittee meeting. The subcommittee agreed staff should hide the technical 5-by-5 grids for the public board presentation and present more accessible summary slides.
