Committee discusses alternate‑site transfers, buses and reunification for closures

"It probably will... we would probably try to keep the buses running," Paula said when asked about bus use for alternate‑site transfers, adding that orchestration with transportation staff would be necessary. Chair clarified the district's approach to mid‑day closures: "If school closes in the middle of the day, they stay on their campus... parents would pick up at the reunification stage." Paula confirmed school staff would enact the district's reunification procedures for mid‑day incidents rather than transferring students to another campus during the school day.

Committee members asked staff to include clear instructions in the closure handout about who families should expect to hear from and how transportation decisions are made. Staff said they will add explanatory language and coordinate with the transportation team for any alternate‑site protocols.
