Grand Prairie holds MLK Day parade with new route through Dalworth neighborhood

A Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade in Grand Prairie drew residents, students and public officials to a new route that ran from Hospital Drive to MLK Junior Boulevard and through the historic Dalworth neighborhood, ending at the Dalworth Recreation Center where a special program was held.

Presenter (S1) described the day as “a brisk, sun drenched January Monday morning” that brought attendees from across Grand Prairie. Participant (S3) said, “Unity and equality for all people is important, and I think that's ultimately what this parade symbolizes,” reflecting participants’ emphasis on community and remembrance. The event included participants from Grand Prairie Independent School District and featured a range of civic and school groups.
