CDC recognizes Eric Ripley, welcomes appointee Ron Martin (absent) and moves meeting time earlier

The Deer Park Community Development Committee opened the meeting by recognizing Eric Ripley for his service after his 2021 appointment to the CDC; Ripley’s term ended when he was elected to city council. A plaque of appreciation was presented and participants gathered for a photograph.

Chair also announced Ron Martin’s appointment to position 2 to complete Ripley’s unexpired term under the May 19, 2026 city council ordinance; staff noted Martin was ill and absent from the meeting. “Ron Martin is ill today on his first day on the job,” the Chair said when introducing the appointee.

Later in the meeting the committee considered and approved a proposal to move regular CDC meetings from 5:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; a motion was made, seconded and passed by voice vote. The committee announced its next regular meeting for October 26, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., and then adjourned.
