La Jolla ISD board upholds grievance decision and delegates grievance hearings to committee

The board considered an employee grievance appeal (item 10.20) and voted "to uphold the level 2 decision and deny the appeal," following a motion and second from trustees. The president announced the motion and recorded the voice vote as carrying.

The board immediately followed that action by voting to delegate authority to a board committee to hear employee grievances, to be appointed in accordance with administrative regulations prepared by the superintendent. Trustee motions and seconds are recorded in the meeting record; the board instructed staff to prepare the administrative regulations referenced in the motion.

What happens next: the superintendent's office will prepare administrative regulations for committee appointment and the board will appoint a committee to which the grievance‑hearing authority will be delegated.
