Council swears in new member, hears maintenance and parks updates

Clerk Sima administered the oath of office at the Jan. 14 meeting to JF Lester (new council member) and Thomas Tupling (beginning a second term). Mayor Wall led the Pledge of Allegiance and opened the meeting at 6:00 PM.

In the Mayor's report, Wall thanked Mayor Orozco of Bridgeport for attending and noted the Bio‑Solids Committee met that day. Supt. Doyal provided an update on town maintenance work completed. Council member Lamar raised a concern about a tree at the cemetery blocking a trail to 'Perks Puddle'; Mayor Wall said the tree is on farmland and not town property and said he and Supt. Doyal will look further in the spring. Council member Tupling said the City of Chelan is planning to surplus a park play set; Mayor Wall said he will submit a letter of interest if the play set becomes available.
