Calhoun County court approves 2026 budget adjustments, $2.12M in bills and payroll

The Calhoun County commissioner’s court voted July 29 to approve 2026 budget adjustments and to authorize bills and payroll disbursements the county reported as $2,119,653 in total approvals. A county staff member read the payroll and transfer figures during the meeting, noting electronic payroll payments of $1,155,652.88 for the pay period cited.

The staff member described several interfund transfers, including transfers from Memorial Medical Center accounts and capital obligation bond accounts; one line item moved $611,488.07 to nursing home revenue and other transfers totaled roughly $1.26 million in interfund activity. The presiding commissioner asked for and received a motion and second, called the voice vote, and declared the motions carried.
