A representative of Hillsborough Family Farms used public comment to raise concerns about how the county has handled cannabis revocation items and broader questions of integrity in county processes.
The commenter said the board recently pulled two cannabis revocation items because a required step had been skipped, and criticized staff for treating internal discussions about simplifying the revocation process and removing the planning commission as if those changes were already law.
"If a proposed ordinance discussions are becoming implemented before this board votes on them, why have an ordinance at all?" the commenter asked, urging the board to stop operating proposals prior to adoption and to ensure accountability for all employees regardless of title.
The comments were framed as concerns about trust in county institutions and the sheriff's department; the commenter urged the board to correct mistakes and make accountability visible through proper procedures rather than recognition awards.
