Supervisor Sabatier urges agency representation on Lake County animal-control advisory board

During consideration of committee assignments, Supervisor Sabatier said she supports supervisors participating in the advisory board but suggested adding a seat for local animal-control agencies to improve interagency collaboration.

"I think it's healthy to ensure ... that all of the animal control agencies that are in Lake County are working together and at the same table," Supervisor Sabatier said, noting the City of Clear Lake has been represented by Lieutenant Schneider and now Lieutenant Peterson. She recommended the possibility of flipping a District 2 public member seat to an agency seat be discussed with the advisory board rather than being decided unilaterally by the Board of Supervisors.

The chair said that suggestion can be taken to the advisory board for discussion; no bylaws change was proposed or voted on during the meeting.
