Joanne Grossman, owner of Larchmont Nurseries, addressed the board during public comment to say recent changes to on-street parking hours and meter installation have reduced customer access and harmed her business.
"About 4 years ago, Larchmont started this plan to put in the meters, and they changed all the zoning and all the parking... My business has dropped substantially in the last 3 years," Grossman said, asking the board to review parking classifications that place commercial storefronts in 8-hour zones used by nearby employees. She provided photographs of signage and said some signs are weathered and hard to read. Grossman also raised concerns about dead plantings and irrigation at Constitution Park and offered to help with replanting.
Mayor Bridgette Teresa Brennan thanked Grossman and said she would take the concerns under advisement and follow up with Trustee Post, the traffic liaison, and staff to review the area and state plans for road renovation.
