UW coach Heather Tarr praises state champions, urges support for youth programs

Heather Tarr, head coach of the University of Washington softball team, addressed the assembled high school champions and coaches at the Governor's Residence, praising players and coaches and underscoring the role of high school programs in developing future talent. Tarr told attendees she and UW staff follow high school competition closely and said the high school experience builds character and leadership.

Tarr noted the connection between high school and college softball and encouraged continued support for coaches and families. She closed with a rallying sign-off, saying, "Go Dawgs," and thanked the governor for hosting the recognition.

Her remarks were introduced by Gov. Bob Ferguson and framed as part of a broader celebration that included proclamations and photo opportunities for teams and coaches.
