Council approves multiple utilities and tech contracts, including Landis+Gyr SaaS and a $9M staffing umbrella

Council approved a set of consent items covering software, equipment and service agreements for the Office of Public Utilities and Public Works.

Clerk-read ordinances included a 15-year software-as-a-service agreement with Landis+Gyr not to exceed $3,575,623 and a related support agreement for about $40,175.92. Council members also approved technical-support and maintenance for PI historian software ($89,441.02), Barracuda cloud email protection and archiving ($56,952), purchase of a vacuum pump assembly ($86,160.47) and a multi-vendor supplemental electrical staffing contract capped at $9,000,000 over three years.

Aldermen asked clarifying questions about the staffing contract's scope and whether city crews would still be used; staff said the contractor pool supplements—not replaces—city crews and that expenditures are not guaranteed if storms do not require contractor call‑outs. All items passed on consent voice votes.
