Nomination Committee Proposes Reynolds, Cox to Stay on Virginia Board of Social Work; Special Election Possible

The Virginia Board of Social Work Nomination Committee on July 10, 2026, announced nominations for two board positions, recommending Ms. Reynolds and Ms. Cox to keep their current roles. Committee Chair Sherwood Randolph Jr. notified the panel that only those two candidates had been nominated.

Jennifer Lang, Deputy Executive Director, told the committee that because the Board is awaiting official appointments or reappointments, a special election could be held if a chosen nominee is not reappointed. Lang also explained that Mr. Randolph could inform the full Board of the nominations and that the full Board could then make motions to nominate individuals for both positions.

The committee took no formal vote on the nominations at the July 10 meeting and left the matter for the full Board to consider as appointments are finalized. The meeting was held at 9960 Mayland Drive in Henrico and the committee was called to order at 9:34 a.m.; the session adjourned at 9:47 a.m.
