Newbury groups planning 250th anniversary; parade organizers ask for more fireworks funding

A planning group of local nonprofits—including the Newbury Historical Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution ' Oxbow Chapter, Tenney Memorial Library, and other local organizations—are coordinating events for Newbury's 250th anniversary in 2026, the hearing record states. Organizers told the committee the town has received a couple of grants to support anniversary activities.

Separately, the organizers of the Woodsville-Wells River Fourth of July parade asked for increased funding for the fireworks display. Selectboard members discussed the possibility of using grant funds to supplement the usual appropriation but did not record a final decision at the hearing.
