Cemetery commissioners urge caution about switching mowing contractors

Cemetery Commission Chair Alan Hall told the Selectboard that cemetery grounds require different mowing practices than standard lawns and that the commission was pleased with the current contractor. Hall expressed concern about a contractor’s ability to mow the cemeteries to the commission’s standards and urged the board not to make a change based on cost alone.

The Selectboard and Cemetery Commissioners agreed the issue requires more discussion before any change is made to the town mowing contract. No decision was reached; the board said it would continue the conversation with the Cemetery Commission at a future meeting.
