Cemetery trustees, not other departments, control cemetery CRF, committee member says

A committee member reviewing CIP materials disputed claims that other departments had spent cemetery CRF money and clarified that, "The only individuals who have the authority to spend CRF would be the trustees," adding that trustees had requested funds and that bills were signed by town staff. He also said he reviewed quarterly statements and found the cemetery fund balance inconsistent with the claim that money had been spent improperly.

The committee discussed the need for trustees to provide clearer line-item documentation and for department heads to submit proper project descriptions with cost details. Members said showing audited or verifiable quarterly balances and attaching receipts or photos would make it easier to justify CRF requests to the select board.
