Johns Creek resident urges city action on creek erosion, trees after recent storm

Robert Simon, a Johns Creek homeowner of roughly 1.3 acres in the 7 Oaks neighborhood, told the council during public comment that repeated storm events have accelerated creek-bank erosion on and near his property and threatened mature trees. "Erosion today is not simply the result of natural aging," Simon said, describing instances when the creek rose eight to ten feet and entire hillsides and trunks were washed away.

Simon said he has documented the problems with photographs and videos and thanked Roman from the city stormwater management group for site visits. He asked the city to recognize the problem as a broader infrastructure and planning issue rather than an individual homeowner's responsibility and requested city support for affected homeowners.
