Planning staff presents conditional-use permit for private event center on Stateline Road

Jeff Joseph, assistant planning director, presented a conditional use permit request for an event center on about 20 acres at 22600 Stateline Road and told commissioners the planning commission approved the request 8–1 with conditions.

“The subject property is approximately 20 acres and is located at 22600 Stateline Road,” Joseph said, and he described the prior temporary permit approved a few months earlier. Joseph said the requested CU would run for 10 years and permit two events per week from March through November.

Commissioners expressed support for the location and noted the applicant had operated under a temporary permit successfully during a World Cup event; no members asked for additional materials. The Board did not take final action during the study session; staff indicated any final decision would follow the public hearing and required findings.

If the Board approves the conditional use permit in a later meeting, staff said conditions included standard operational limits tied to the event schedule and any planning-commission-required mitigations.
