St. Charles Parish Housing Authority adopts revised admissions and occupancy policy

The St. Charles Parish Housing Authority Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on July 28 to adopt Resolution 26-07-28-01, approving revisions to the agency's Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP).

The staff memorandum attached to the resolution said the ACOP updates were needed to ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulatory provisions. "Approval and adoption of the revisions of the ACOP by the board of commissioners is required to effectuate these approvals to ensure compliance with HUD regulatory provisions," the chair stated when introducing the item. The packet and memorandum call out HATMA implementation, the INSPIRE inspection protocol, flat-rent compliance and RAD Section 18 blend conversion language among the substantive edits.

The motion to adopt was made by Commissioner Bailey and seconded by Commissioner Joseph; the chair called the vote and recorded that all voting members voted in the affirmative. The resolution document in the packet memorializes the board's determination that the ACOP revisions are necessary for implementation.
