Conservation commission votes to keep next year’s budget at 2026 levels

The New Durham Conservation Commission agreed to set its budget for the next fiscal year at the same level as 2026, applying a previously noted $150 reduction to dues as requested by the budget committee. A member formally moved to “level, from what we had in our budget for 2026.”

The motion (moved and seconded on the floor) was decided by roll-call vote and recorded as unanimous: Bob — aye; Mark — aye; Bill — aye; Ron — aye. The commission recorded the action and will use the leveled budget figure as the basis for next year’s submission.

Commission discussion had focused on the 0-based budgeting review earlier in the municipal budget process and a reminder that the town picks up a portion of water-quality testing costs (the speaker noted $775 as the current contribution). No amendments to the adopted allocation were made at the meeting.
