Council approves zoning map amendment and conditional use permit for contractor facility at 1798 NW Rick Williamson

The council approved a request by Shane Kaylor to convert a 4.569-acre tract at 1798 Northwest Rick Williamson from agricultural to C‑1 general commercial with a conditional use permit for a contractor office and screened outside storage. Scott McDonald (speaker 12) said the property contains an existing building that was originally intended as a church and that the proposed site plan shows screening and landscape buffering to mitigate impacts.

Planning & Zoning recommended approval (6–0). The council opened the public hearing, received no public speakers, and approved the ordinance and conditional use permit (motion by Mayor Pro Tem Zach Smith; second by Matt Tiscus).
