Resident recounts alleged TikTok-related attack, urges Weatherford to add police officers

Betancourt said she called police and was told initially that no units were available and that officers who later patrolled did not contact her; she said she suffered physical injury and more than $2,000 in property damage and requested the city hire more police.

"I was terrified," Betancourt said, describing calls for help and an initial message that officers could not be sent. The mayor asked staff to meet with her after the meeting and gather additional information so the city can investigate and respond.
