Board amends FY27 budget to fund 4% school salary increase after state action

Henrico County approved an amendment to the FY27 budget to increase the approved salary raise for Henrico County Public Schools employees from 3% to 4% following state actions. County finance staff said the $6.1 million amendment will raise the total cost of the salary program to about $24.4 million, with roughly $10 million of that cost covered by state funds tied to teachers supported by the state.

Board members expressed support for the increase. County staff said the action conforms to legislative changes and will be processed in the FY27 budget and payroll implementation.
