Lake County School Board approves tentative 2026–27 budget and schedules final hearing for Sept. 14, 2026

The Lake County School Board voted to adopt the tentative budget for fiscal year 2026–27 after Superintendent Carnegie read the recommended amount into the record and the board moved and seconded the recommendation. Carnegie stated, "I recommend that the board approve Resolution 2026-04 adopting the tentative budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year in the amount of 1,205,225,396," and the board approved the measure by voice vote; at no point did public speakers offer comments during the budget hearing.

The board also voted to declare the final budget hearing will be held Monday, Sept. 14, 2026 at 5:05 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at the Lake County Administration Building. Chair Mathias moved and the board seconded the motion; the board approved the date and time by voice vote. The superintendent and staff are expected to publish the adopted tentative millage and budget figures and to advertise the final hearing as required by statute.

The meeting adjourned after no board member comments were offered.
