Bay City recognizes four employee promotions during council meeting

Rhonda Clay called forward employees promoted during the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, and staff presented certificates and photos. "Tonight we have 4 promotions to recognize," Clay said, naming promoted police personnel including Corporal Ashley Rubio and Sergeant Dylan Wakefield (certificate held for a promoted employee not present).

City Manager and council members praised the staff for their work, highlighted recent operational successes (street maintenance on Nichols Road and purchase of a new 14-cubic-yard dump truck authorized by council), and invited those present to be recognized from the dais. The manager also acknowledged an employee medical emergency on June 30 and thanked the staff whose quick response helped a finance manager recover; the manager asked staff to come forward for a photo.

This agenda item was ceremonial: council acknowledged promotions and offered appreciation; there was no vote beyond routine consent to include the item on the agenda.
