Resident urges earlier park curfew; council notes written request for public hearing on license‑plate readers

During citizen comment, Tammy Burris of Lakeshore Drive asked council to consider moving park curfew earlier—she suggested 9–10 p.m.—citing recurring racing, loud music, drinking and fence‑cutting at the skate park and lake area. “My opinion is anybody that’s out there at 11 or late or later than 11, really, is probably up to no good,” Burris said, asking the council to act to protect citizens and park amenities.

The mayor also read an online submission from James Martinez requesting that the council schedule a dedicated public hearing with the Cleburne Police Department to explain current and planned deployments of automated license‑plate readers (Flock) and associated surveillance technologies inside city limits. The mayor said the submission was entered into the public record and staff would schedule a public hearing and invite the chief to explain policies and deployments at a future meeting.
