Council approves $130,920 to fund interim town manager services

The Purcellville Town Council approved a budget amendment July 28 to provide $130,920 from general reserves to fund contracted interim town manager services through Dec. 31, 2026.

LaDonna Snellbaker (speaker 1) explained the FY-27 budget did not anticipate the need for interim executive management and that the amendment covers hourly bill rates and reimbursable expenses billed by the contractor. Council members asked whether the amount covered a 90-day residency-limited interim or the entire remainder of the calendar year; staff clarified the contract is with the Robert Bob Group and the funding covers through Dec. 31 unless replaced earlier.

Council Member Wright asked whether benefits or retirement costs would be included; staff said the town will receive an invoice from the contractor for an hourly bill rate and the contractor handles salary and benefits. By roll call the council approved BA 27-002, authorizing the interim town manager or designee to implement the amendment.
