Purcellville staff asked the town council July 28 to approve a Loudoun County CIP funding request to finish a missing, ADA-compliant sidewalk on Nursery Avenue between Fireman’s Field and Emrick Elementary. Council approved staff moving forward with the application and authorized the town manager to execute the application and project administration agreements.
Andrea Broshkovich (speaker 2) said the town is requesting an additional $500,000 to cover construction cost increases for the section that will complete the full east-side connection. The project was originally funded by the county in 2022; County CIP applications are due in September and the county’s finance committee will review projects in October. The council approved Resolution 26-07-04 to submit the funding request and authorized the manager to execute required agreements.
