Construction at OAC site advances; transformer enclosure lid poured, slab targeted in two weeks

Andrea Kissel, filling in for David Greenwood, gave the commission a progress report on the OAC construction project: foundation excavation, multiple footing pours, masonry work and active work on Elevator B. She said crews poured a transformer enclosure lid earlier in the week and that the team expects to pour the concrete slab in about two weeks, which will make visible progress on the site.

"In the next 30 days, masonry activities will continue and their focus will turn towards Stairwell A and elevator A and then Stairwell C and elevator C," Kissel said. She described plumbing rough‑in and conduit on site in preparation for slab work.

A commissioner asked how plumbing pressure testing would be performed. Kissel replied that pressure testing was scheduled to begin the next day but that she would follow up with details on the specific protocol and notify the commission of the testing procedure.

Photos of conduit, elevator towers, and the transformer enclosure were available to commissioners; staff will circulate additional images as the project moves toward slab placement and continued above‑grade work.
