Consultants present City Hall master plan and new-construction concepts to Kennewick council

Consultants presented the final findings of the City Hall Replacement Study and a refined civic campus master plan to the Kennewick City Council. Marcus Valentine summarized the timeline and next steps and handed the presentation to the site team, which described campus limits, circulation priorities and an emphasis on preserving mature trees and pedestrian connections to downtown.

The team presented a new-construction concept sized at roughly 46,000 square feet over two floors, designed to consolidate public-facing services into a 'one-stop' desk, place council chambers as a prominent architectural volume, and create plaza and amphitheater spaces north of the building. Consultants said the City Hall would be sited roughly 60–70 feet back from 6th Avenue to create a civic entry and to allow a pedestrian-forward courtyard. They emphasized the concept nature of the visuals: "none of it is final; this is just a preliminary master plan," a presenter said.

Council members and consultants discussed how the proposed layout connects to the museum, community center and library and how future opportunity sites on the campus could accommodate growth. The design team highlighted material choices (brick and mass timber options) intended to tie the building to local architectural textures and to provide durability and civic presence.
