Seneca’s fire hall construction request not selected; senator willing to sponsor in 2027

City Manager/Recorder Deborah Oatman told the council that the Legislative Capital Construction Project request for improvements to the existing fire hall compound — including paving and installation of a gate — was not selected in the current legislative session. She said Senator McLane has indicated a willingness to sponsor the request during the 2027 legislative session.

Oatman also reported that additional federal funding requests have been submitted through the offices of Senator Ron Wyden and Senator Jeff Merkley and that letters of support remain pending. The council recorded the update; no formal new direction or funding commitment was voted at the Feb. 10 meeting.
