Wiscasset planners move to redraw Village I boundary 500 feet from Routes 1 and 27 and Gardiner Road

The Wiscasset Planning Board reviewed an Ordinance Review Committee recommendation to change the Village I zoning boundary so that Village I extends 500 feet from Routes 1 and 27 and from Gardiner Road. "At its meeting prior to the Planning Board meeting, the ORC voted to change the new map to indicate that Village 1 will be 500 feet from Routes 1 and 27 and Gardiner Road," the minutes state.

Board members were told a new map will be created to reflect the change. The minutes note that grammatical errors in the ordinance text were corrected and that the list of Permitted Uses for the district was not altered. No formal vote by the Planning Board on the map itself is recorded in the minutes; the ORC recommendation is recorded as its action prior to the Planning Board meeting.
