The Village of Villa Park Community Fund Commission voted to allocate funds to purchase skeletons and decorations for the Skelly Squad fundraiser. Commission member Eliza Diedrich moved a motion to allocate money for skellies and decor; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
Members discussed specifics before the vote. Mary Brunner Heintz reviewed unit pricing and past participation, noting the skeletons cost about $34.99 each and that lights ran about $9.99 per set. Commissioners debated buying 17 versus 26 or more units depending on how many owners from last year would reuse their skeletons, and agreed to buy inventory now and return unused items if necessary. "So motion to vote $1,600 for skellies and decor," said Eliza Diedrich when she made the motion to purchase decorations and supplies.
The commission recorded the decision as an approved allocation to support Autumn Jubilee fundraising and decoration needs. Mary and staff will follow up to contact last year’s participants and finalize ordering and storage logistics with village staff.
