Villa Park parade float wins best use-of-theme; organizers report 250 stars on float

Commission member Mary Brunner Heintz summarized the July 4 parade and said the commission float was well received and won an award for best use of theme. Mary said the unit "went real well," and commissioners commended volunteers who built and staffed the float.

A commissioner noted the float used approximately 250 stars in its decoration, and members discussed logistics for storing the plaque and float materials at Village Hall. The chair thanked volunteers and suggested a rotating 'custody' of the plaque between members or storing it at Village Hall. "There were 250 stars on that float," said a commissioner during the recap; the commission will follow up on plaque storage and recognition of prize winners.
