A singular, extended public comment period on July 14 covered several distinct themes that later fed into council votes. On surveillance, Matt Lewis and other commenters warned about automatic license-plate readers and AI-driven camera systems being vulnerable to misuse and privacy harms; commenters asked for stricter auditing and retention rules.
