Residents press township to post enforceable parking signs at Ideal/Bridal Beach; ordinance delayed for consistency

Residents from the Bridal Beach/Bayside Parkway area urged the committee to post readable, enforceable parking signs in the park parking lot after a promised spring installation did not appear. A resident said temporary signage is hard to read and that permanent, enforceable signs were expected earlier in the season.

Township staff said temporary signs will remain until the ordinance is corrected to ensure consistency across parks and to make signage enforceable. The committee said the ordinance will be introduced at the August 17 meeting and adopted at the first September meeting after the necessary legal and DEP consultations and editorial consistency checks are completed. One resident said, "I was told that it would be introduced tonight and adopted on 17th," while staff explained that inconsistencies in the ordinance text require consolidation before posting and enforcement.

Officials also said police enforcement depends on the ordinance being clear and consistent; staff will arrange follow-up conversations and a presentation at the next township committee meeting.
