Danville accepts $14,451.44 in insurance funds for Town Hall wind damage

The Board of Selectmen unanimously accepted $14,451.44 in unanticipated insurance proceeds July 13 to repair wind damage at Danville Town Hall.

Vale VanDoorne-Freeman, the Selectmen’s administrator, told the Board the check from RPC covers wind damage (less deductible and recoverable depreciation). She said she has two roof quotes and one quote each for the siding and a window and the Board asked that she obtain one more quote for the siding and window to provide comparables. Chair Annemarie Inman asked for additional comparisons before committing remaining operating funds.

Vice Chair Shawn O'Neil noted a separate warrant article about chimney repairs and asked staff to check timing; the Board agreed that any remainder beyond the insurance payment would come from the Government Buildings operating budget. Joe Hester moved and Shawn O'Neil seconded the motion to accept the funds; the motion passed unanimously.
