MCPS finishes Chromebook inventory review, issues SOP to standardize reconciliations

MCPS said July 27 that it is finalizing a Chromebook inventory report and has created a standard operating procedure to help technology staff reconcile devices. Kimberly Fields said the district is updating its ServiceNow system, standardizing procedures across schools, and coordinating with the finance department to investigate inventory losses and discrepancies.

"We did create a standard operating procedure, which is being shared with our technology support specialist to be able to better reconcile our inventory and how we manage inventory, as well as updating our ServiceNow system," Fields told the committee. She said the SOP and updated processes are intended to improve consistency across schools and support better reporting of losses.
