Planned Growth overlay presented with three service tiers; commissioners voice density concerns

Martha Harrison presented a chart showing three classes for a proposed Planned Growth overlay: Class 1 (public water and sewer), Class 2 (public sewer, private well) and Class 3 (public water, private septic). Each class would carry different square-footage standards for development.

Commission Chair Terry Carter expressed concern that the reduced square-footage standards assigned to Class 2 and Class 3 might make it difficult for homes to support full-time residents, and asked staff and MARC to review the implication of smaller minimums on year-round occupancy. The commission displayed the overlay map but took no action at this meeting.
