Owner presents Lease to Locals program to encourage landlords to rent to town workers

Owner and presenter Kai Frolich described the Lease to Locals program, which pairs towns or nonprofits with incentive packages and outreach to encourage landlords to lease units to local employees, typically for full-time occupancy. Frolich told the commission the model has seen success in locations including Provincetown, Massachusetts; Woodstock, Vermont; and sites in California, and that the program can be customized or offered at a discount when neighboring towns cooperate.

Kai said he will forward program materials to town staff (he specifically said he would send information to "Erin") so the town can review program details and potential local implementation options. Commission members asked about coordination with nonprofits and town staff; no implementation decision was reached at this meeting.
