Ludlow lays out spring and summer events: Easter Egg Hunt, Green Up Day, July 4 fireworks

The Recreation Committee reviewed upcoming community events and sponsorship opportunities for spring and summer.

Nick Miele said the annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held April 4 and that he will confer with Angella Kissell about the Fire Department's annual Easter dinner; a prior attempt at a pre-hunt breakfast did not work with scheduling. For Vermont's Green Up Day on May 2, the committee discussed adding local sponsors to shirt sleeves to offset cost; Clear Choice Pools and Spas is listed as a sponsor and Frank Provance mentioned Diamond Reality. Scott Baitz suggested that "Nick Baitz" might also be interested in supporting Green Up Day; Nick Miele said the Lake Rescue Association is another potential partner for waterfront cleanup.

On July 4, Miele said the town has secured vendors from last year for fireworks and is working to add additional vendors; he noted this year's festivities coincide with the nation's 250th anniversary. Committee members did not take formal votes on event budgets at the meeting and requested follow-up on sponsorship commitments and vendor arrangements.
