Court approves $1.25M for Exposition Center HVAC and repairs

After removing item 14C from the consent agenda for separate consideration and executive-session consultation on lease agreements, the court returned and approved a request from Facilities Management for $1,250,000 from a $7.81M earmark in the capital acquisition resources reserve. The funds were described as $1,000,000 to replace HVAC units at the Exposition Center Arena Skyline Club and $250,000 for plumbing and electrical repairs needed to keep HVAC systems functioning reliably.

A commissioner had asked for legal consultation about related leases; the court took that under executive-session exception and then approved the funding by unanimous vote on the public record. The approval includes instruction for staff to proceed with the repair work and to finalize any lease-related clarifications raised during the executive session.
