Sheriff's office adjusts jail meal provider and awards patrol vehicle bid amid service changes

The Sheriff’s Office presented jail meal specifications and the county conducted public bid openings in January and again in mid‑2016 when vendors withdrew. In November the county approved a temporary contract with The Roadhouse at $3.75 per meal after two prior providers closed, ensuring continuity of meals for the jail population. The Board also publicly opened patrol vehicle bids; Jerry’s Chevrolet submitted the low conforming bid and was awarded the patrol vehicle purchase with added Bluetooth capability.

The board handled short‑term procurement to maintain operations and authorized associated purchases and bid specifications for vehicles and equipment in public session.
