Departments will testify at the CIC's second meeting as committee refines recommendations

Committee members and staff discussed next steps in the CIP review. Vince Masterson explained the CIC subcommittee will finish scoring and provide an initial advisory list to the chair; at the second meeting departments will have an opportunity to present testimony and advocate for projects that fell outside the initial funding level. "When departments come in, they have the opportunity at that 2nd meeting," Masterson said, describing the chance to review which projects fell within initial cash and bond funding levels and to provide testimony.

Members said much of the heavy work occurs between meetings in pre-meetings and coordination with staff and other supervisors. The chair said the next meeting will be held in the same room at 10 a.m., that the second meeting could be long because departments will present, and that the third meeting will be used to assemble final CIC recommendations to the county executive and county board. No formal directions beyond scheduling and the invitation for departments to prepare testimony were taken at this meeting.
