Select board members told the state design team they are particularly concerned about the Route 10 crossing and the nearby Brickyard Road junction, which several speakers described as a high‑speed, complex intersection. "Route 10 is certainly a rather bit of a speedway coming down that hill..." a select board member said, urging careful study of sight distances and turning movements.
Stantec and the landscape team described a toolbox of options—path alignment jogs, signage, textured crossings, rapid flashing beacons and overhead HAWK signals—and said the specific treatment will be selected after field data and traffic analysis. "As we get into this and look at traffic volumes... we will be able to talk about the specific treatments for that intersection," a Stantec representative said. The board and the Greenway Committee asked that the team prioritize safety in preliminary design and present options at future public meetings.
